Amateur Radio Mesh Networks[edit]

When you're a licensed Amateur Radio operator, you can modify off-the-shelf wifi routers that are normally operated unlicensed under FCC Part 15 and run them as FCC Part 97 devices with higher output power and modified antennas. The devices hooked to multiple routers can be joined together over the air into a mesh network.
